It Starts with water
Access to clean, safe water is a catalyst for change and the first step to elevating communities from a cycle of sickness and poverty to one of health and hope.
“This Water saved the life of my family and changed the way our communites lives.” Quote Needed
Distributing water filter kits to communities that do not have access to clean water. Each of these filters provides clean water for up to 25 people and will last for many years. Prior to the filter distributions, we provide hygiene and sanitation training (WASH) to all recipients and often to whole communities.
Through carefully vetted local partners, our reach has expanded greatly. Monthly support to schools, orphanages, housing, and food allows for the best use of resources and ensures funds are directly used towards programs in Africa.
Expanding our investment in sustainable projects in the communities serving vulnerable children. This may include school buildings, housing, farming, small businesses, and other projects that will provide sustainable growth.
Together, we are improving infrastructure throughout schools in rural African, providing education and transforming communities through the sponsorship of vulnerable children.

The Water Crisis
THE PROBLEM: Over 3,100 children die every year from diarrhea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation in Kenya. 43% of the 44 million people living in Kenya, of do not have access to clean water. A true water crisis.
- People have no consistent access to clean, safe water. Common water sources are local watering holes for animals and people alike, runoff from Mt. Kilimanjaro, a small stream, or Lake Victoria (filled with raw sewage, industrial waste, parasites, bacteria, and disease.)
- Water-borne diseases are an ongoing, preventable, health crisis in Kenya. People have been left unprotected against epidemics such as cholera, typhoid, and parasitic worms.
- The rate of exposure is extremely high because the water is not only contaminated at the basins and pumps where it is collected, but also the containers are almost always “found,” second-hand objects, often previously used for oil, fertilizer, or wastes.
THE SOLUTION: For $65 you can purchase a water filter that will povide up to 1 million gallons of clean, safe, drinking water. The water filters we use are simple, effective, and do not require any replaceable parts. YOU can bring health to schools, villages, and orphanages, and allow families to thrive.
Just ONE can make a difference, will YOU?
A Bigger Vision
Kenya has 3 million orphans, 47% are orphaned as a result of HIV and AIDS
The long-term strategic goal of Just One Africa is to empower local leaders who care for vulnerable children within their community with sustainable solutions. These solutions provide long-term access to clean and safe water, quality education, life skills training, adequate safe housing, and more efficient agricultural methods. These continuing viable solutions will reduce the reliance on outside sources of funding and furnish them with the means and ability to provide for themselves, as well as those they care for.
We strongly believe in sustainable solutions for long-term impact. It is paramount to work closely with our local leaders by investing in who they are and also building deep relationships with them based on trust and respect. We take a great deal of time to listen and ask questions to determine what they desire to see happen in their communities. It is from that input that we move forward creating sustainable solutions that will be managed, constructed, and maintained locally.
