Why?

Published: January 28, 2015

Honest and reflective jet-lagged post: Leaving Kenya and returning to the States is always hard and full of internal conflict.

Why am I here?
Why are they there?
Why are our situations not reversed?
Why am I surrounded with excessive abundance?
How can I work to bring more sustainable development and impact in the communities we serve in?
What can I keep learning from my Kenyan friends?
How does my perspective still need to change? What are the next steps?

Right now, the reality is carpooling, dinner, and laundry. Putting on the mom hat is so hard.
So hard to combine both worlds when my heart and head and body are in different places all the time.

There is no way for me to change the whole world. But I will not give up on the one right in front of me. If I keep focused on JUST ONE life, change will come and it can change their world with hope and life! This sweet girl is Janet and she is JUST ONE. She is worth it. ‪#‎iamone‬ ‪#‎lovedoes‬
